The Family Winery K+K Kirnbauer produces wine on 100 acres of the best vineyard sites in Deutschkreutz, right on the Hungarian border. As Austrian pioneers in Barrique fermentation we now look back on over 30 years of experience. The harmony between wine and wood is at the core of our wine-making philosophy – letting over 70% of the harvest age in almost 1.000 own Barrique barrels. Our wines are expression of our identity, represent finest taste and Pannonian – the old Roman name for our region – joie de vivre.
We are committed to sustainable cultivation in the vineyards as well as in the winery: Nature and resource conversation and a minimal CO2-foot print are supposed to help ensure that future generations still find optimal conditions for wine growing in the Middle Burgenland. As one of the first Austrian wineries we underwent the “Certification for sustainable wine production”.
Our wine “Das Phantom” in 1987 marked the beginning of Cuvee culture in Austrian wine making. It’s growing fan base proves its second to none appeal.
